How do you finally turn your dream to write a book into action even though you have trouble finding 10-minutes to relax these days?
One of the big challenges we see with our students over at the Information Marketing Zone is that they have not been able to take their intense desire to write a book and turn it into a set of relatively simple tasks that anyone could fit into the busiest of days.
99% of the writers today do not have an unlimited amount of time to write – so why are some book writers able to turn their dream of book writing into reality in just 6-8 weeks?
Why do some ebook marketers online take an idea for a new non-fiction, “how to” ebook and turn it into a top selling product online in a matter of weeks?
It’s is NOT that they are expert writers, speedy wordsmiths, or even experts – in most cases it has nothing to do with their ability to write, but has everything to do with their level of focus and their ability to break down the book writing process into a series of achievable steps.
WHERE DOES A SUCCESSFUL “HOW TO” BOOK START?
Many people begin their book writing career and profit center by writing a “how to” or informational book or ebook.
These are books that help others to learn or achieve something in their life such as save money traveling, losing weight, improve their relationships, help their personal development, start another career, manage a health challenge, hold a better wedding…and so on.
The number of topics are near infinite, the constant aspect is that writing information products involves answering questions.
To begin with, you need to start with a BIG question.
There is no end to big questions people want answered, but here are a few as examples:
1. How do I stop heartburn
2. What does a typical year of homeschooling look like?
3. What are the top 10 least expensive activities to do in London England?
4. How do I eat less and exercise to lose more weight?
5. What are the hottest fashion trends for students this year at school?
6. How do I get rid of a planter’s wart?
As you will see, these may not be the most glamorous of topics, but each has a high degree of both emotional desire to have the answer and a wide audience that continue to ask these questions each month.
By focusing on a very specific question, desire or challenge a wide portion of your market wants answers to, you can now develop a series of sub-questions that you can use to outline your report, ebook or book which will make writing a book a much simpler, more achievable task.
