Overcoming the first obstacle of writing your own ebook, book or information product is deciding on a market and topic, but following soon after is the frustrating challenge of getting ideas from your head down on paper.
Last evening I took a call from a subscriber to this blog who confessed they had been trying to make a living as a writer for more than 2-years, and although they were scraping together a living, they were suffering greater pain than they ought to have in getting their information, ideas, content to flow.
Whether you are a writer for hire attacking everything from magazine articles to white papers, books, e-books and more or you are an aspiring non-fiction writer who desparately wants to finish their book or e-book to sell online or through retail bookstores – helping get your ideas out concisely and quickly is important.
Here are a few tips for writers to write faster and easier…
1. If your work is non-fiction, then you are most probably offering your reader a solution to a problem. Even if you are entertaining or informing the reader, there are a set of questions in your reader’s mind about your topic – it’s up to you to find out what those questions are.
You may recall this video we produced on finding hot niche market questions and opportunities over at InfomarketersZone — there are many other ways including research on what information is already selling, survey techniques, etc…
Your goal is to develop and organize as concise a list of questions that your market has about your topic AND to organize the answers to those questions in your own unique way allowing you to “brand” your writing as your personal solution for their challenges.
If you suffer from writer’s block, a jumbled mind, trouble communicating your thoughts, not being able to stick to your writing schedule – then you probably aren’t framing your writing properly.
Try an outline based on questions – and you will see an immense difference in your clarity and produvity as a writer.

Hey Jeff;
Thanks for mentioning white papers. They happen to be a hot niche market for writers right now, especially in the business-to-business space.
All my best!
