The #1 complaint we hear by those who take the journey into launching their own teaching, coaching or knowledge-based business with us at InfoMarketer’sZone is the PAIN associated to developing their own products.
- It takes too long to write a course or book
- It’s too hard to get started or make progress with their book
- How do I know what the best content is to put in the book or course to reach my audience?
- Doesn’t it take months or years to write a book or course?
- Why would anyone want to hear from me anyway?
Truth is, very few people who put together their own top selling books, ebooks or courses these days actually sit down, lock themselves in a room and write the entire thing – that IS too painful.
3 Ways That Our Clients And Peers Are Developing Top Selling Courses and Books
1. Video & Streaming
Now that you have the ability to produce videos using something as simple as your smartphone – upload them to YouTube, stream them using free apps like Periscope (owned and linked to Twitter), Meerkat (started it all – well, after Ustream that is), and now Facebook Streaming AND still save those streaming videos to your mobile device – you have the ULTIMATE product developing utility – but almost nobody knows it.
Here’s why:
- You are simultaneously building a following, an audience AND they can give you real time feedback against your streams to know what is popular, what their questions are, how they respond and what really hits home AND developing content
- Your streams are saved to your mobile device and can then be uploaded to YouTube right away for even greater exposure AND…
- You can send your video to a transcription business and have them transcribed into text (for a book) or even into slides to provide the basis of your course, workshop, seminar or other high-end product
If you guys know Grant Cardone – he is currently writing his 5th book to be titled “Obsessed” largely through daily streams, sending those streams away for transcription and then editing them down to the absolute best content. All the while, he’s building a hysteria around himself, his business and the book PLUS he’s become a leading resource on using the newest platforms for marketing online.
Now that’s how you leverage your time.
2. Blog Your Book
We used this method to provide an annual update to our Information Entrepreneur’s Success Manual this past year.
I started by going back to some of the questions sent in from my customers, then went and looked at the top blog posts we had this past year and from this information – in about 1-hour, had the exact chapters I wanted to add to the book.
I then went and pulled from those blog posts – enhanced the material over 1-day and had the complete update ready to go out the door. About 40 additional pages of valuable content.
You don’t have a blog or content yet?
No problem…what you want to do is identify an initial topic, angle and outline for your book – if you need help – that’s what the Fast Track InfoProfits Course is all about inside InfoMarketer’sZone
Now, take that outline, break it down into a series of 4-5 800-1000 word articles that you begin blogging about 4-5 days out of the week.
By linking your blog to social accounts you begin to build that following, you have the basis of your book within 2-3 weeks of blogging and from there you can add any extra content you need, some case studies or examples, a few photo’s or graphics and you have your book ready to go.
3. Podcasts & Interviews
Another great way to build a loyal following and produce exceptional content is through podcasting.
If you haven’t heard our podcasts, here is our business podcast titled Online Business Platinum Podcast – you can listen to them by going here.
What we do each week is cover 3 topics offering advice, knowledge and experience that impacts the lives of our audience – with occasional expert interviews thrown in as the opportunity arises.
Again – each episode can be transcribed and turned into a chapter or multiple chapters of a book or alternatively produced as either charts or a script for a video course or seminar.
Producing your own products is the #1 way to produce profits online – when you own your own knowledge products you keep the majority of your profits and you brand yourself one of the top 1% experts in your field.
Now more than even it’s easy to put together your own products without the pain of isolating yourself in your office and painfully producing pages of content.
Use these methods to start producing your own content and products right away
