After spending nearly 6-years with my previous webhost for the majority of our shared server sites (we have different hosting for our dedicated membership site and some of our blogging sites), they decided to change their business model and made a smooth transition for us to Hostgator.Â
To say the least, I was skeptical. Before my previous webhost I had changed several times never quite seeming to get the proper combination of fair pricing, features, website load times and great support.Â
So far, now several months following the transition, I am left wondering why I didn’t move many of my sites to Hostgator long ago.
Not only do they have a better feature set, cPanel, more storage space at about half the price of my other hosting, they have terrific support and load times on my sites has been faster.
Then today, I get a message from them that they have signed a partnership with a company that will improve load times by a further 30%.  That’s important in today’s uber-competitive world where you don’t get second chances with visitors who arrive at your page and don’t instantly see what they are looking for AND Google is paying more attention to website load times as part of their ranking of your sites.Â
If you are looking for a webhost – either to change from the one you have now or as a first webhost, I can’t recommend Hostgator highly enough…you won’t be disappointed and you WILL have a competitive advantage compared to anyone else hosting elsewhere.Â
