For any of you who have followed this blog or any of our systems for building websites and marketing information products online at InfoMarketer’sZone or The Ultimate Success Package, you will know that we recommend you enter new markets with a website designed to test traffic, infoproduct demand and begin the process of building your subscriber list.

These sites are early content-based sites that cover a market segment for the express purpose of testing the popularity and demand of certain pages and strategically placed affiliate products and ads that you put on the site allowing you to focus in on the most desired information on that topic.

When I construct these sites and blogs I like to also include ads on the content pages to help monetize the sites when first getting started.

Let me first say that the TOP priority should be gaining new subscribers – but in the cases I have tested adding an ad block doesn’t impact the number of opt-ins in any major way.

Obviously Google’s Adsense is one of the major ad networks you can use – you signup for an account and can put Adsense code on your content sites within minutes of being accepted.

One of the questions that many people ask is how to wrap text around these ads when they are placed inside the content in an article or WordPress blog posting – as examples?

For example, in this recent blog posting titled "What You See Is What You Eat" you will notice how the text wraps around the square ad block about halfway down the body of the post.

What code can you use to do this?

By placing the ad code inside a <div align> tag you can easily instruct the content following the ad to wrap around the ad-block – here’s a sample:

<div style="float: left; margin-right: 20px;"><your adcode here…></div>

The float left instructs the ad to be left justified and the text will wrap around the ad to the right.  The margin-right instruction simply provides a small amount of space between the text wrapped around the ad block so it doesn’t look un-naturally close.

By wrapping text around your ads you will find the content page looks much more professional and appealing and it is generally understood that the effectiveness of your ad block (meaning more people will click on the ads) will go up, sometimes considerably.
