Market Mining
The first is learning the ability to uncover niche pockets of intense, desperate demand within markets. Just as a truck rolling down the hill gains rapid momentum that almost nothing can stop, you want to design a business that gains instant momentum based on the desire and desperate demand of those in your chosen marketplace.  The skill of market mining is not JUST to find a market that is already spending to solve a specific problem, but digging down to find what the emotional objective is for them in buying to solve a problem or fulfill a desire.  The better you get at identifying consumer desire and the motivation behind that desire, the more profitable you will become sooner.
If your business today is taking your time and energy and NOT returning big profit to you, then there is a very real possibility that you are not aligned correctly with a BIG desire and have not clearly identified what emotional drivers are behind that big desire. For some of you, that may be a small tweak while for others it means completely rethinking and re-aligning their business – the good news is that while this can take some time and energy, the resulting kick in momentum when you do market mining properly is well worth it.
Communication
The second major skill absolutely necessary to succeed with your online business is effective communication with your marketplace. Specifically, the ability to influence and persuade your market is critical to attracting their attention, gaining their interest and getting them to take action based on your proposals.
Communication with your market can take many forms…
- Sales Letter
- Pre-sales funnel (emails sequence for example)
- Social platform messages
- Blogs
- Articles
- Videos
- Free or promotional products (reports, ebooks, white papers, etc…)
In order to effectively persuade and influence your market you first must GRAB their attention with a hard-hitting, emotionally charged headline, title, statement or piece of content. Next, you want to establish a connection with your market through techniques such as empathy and social proof. Finally, you want to take your prospect to where they wish to be convincing them along the way that you and your business have the ability to take them to where they badly want to be in spite of what they may have tried thus far.
There are many skills and factors in building a high profit online business, but if you have to focus on two that have the biggest impact, the ability to identify desperate demand and communicate effectively to persuade and influence your market are the two you should ensure you have in place.
