You want to start your own online business selling information products and you wonder is Clickbank a good place for beginners to start promoting ebooks and infoproducts online?
Given that Clickbank is one of the most established ebook directories on the internet combined with the fact that they have a simple system for anyone to freely access promotional links in minutes AND taking into account that many of the products available to promote on this directory sell as relatively high-priced, high commissions compared to other book directories like Amazon or Apple iBooks…then yes, it seems like a great opportunity right?
WHAT IS CLICKBANK
First, Clickbank is the #1 directory for information-based products such as ebooks, home study courses, private memberships and even software. Clickbank is somewhat unique in that they provide authors and information product entrepreneurs a place to simultaneously
- Take payment for their information products
- List their products in a global marketplace
- Offer a turn-key affiliate program for their infoproducts where anyone can come and get a link to promote your product and then get paid an affiliate commission set by the publisher at a value they wish to offer (40-60% would be a common range to find publishers set to pay their affiliates)
From this, we can see that CB can be used in two ways by online entreprenurs:
1. To list their own information products for sale online, take payment and offer incentives to others to put your product in front of their audiences for a commission as affiliates
2. You can become a Clickbank affiliate for any product you wish to promote to your marketplace and earn commissions as a result of “selling through” someone else’s product to your customers
REMEMBER, THIS IS HOW ONLINE PROFITS ARE GENERATED
Building a business/income stream online is all about capturing the attention and interest of a given market and then providing highly relevant solutions to in-demand challenges held by that market.
This is the case if you are selling your own ebooks or infoproducts on CB or if you are generating traffic to promote someone else’s product as an affiliate.
Within this overall objective is the process you use to get traffic, capture that traffic into a trusted audience (either blog followers, video watchers or mailing list subscribers) and eventually close them to be customers.
The good aspect of Clickbank (and similar directories) is that they give you very good information on **some** of the hotter, proven markets by showing you the popular products.  This takes one of the variables out of the online marketing equation.
Still, you must learn to generate the traffic, capture leads and convert that traffic…CB won’t help you with that – that part is up to you.
So, is Clickbank a good way for newbies (beginners in internet marketing) to build their business online…yes, but only if you are committed to learning how to market ANY product online.
In the end, your ultimate objective should be to develop a market to which you can market a combination of affiliate products and eventually, your own products dominating that market and creating a strong, profit producing internet business.
