So how do you get started and what should you expect to achieve in the first few months of starting your path toward becoming a business tycoon online?

1.  Know Your Internet Buyers

When I start and grow a new internet business or help our InfoMarketer’sZone customers build their profit level to 6-figures, it always starts with finding a group of hungry buyers who are spending money based on a highly emotional desire to…

  • Avoid or overcome a challenge, pain or frustration in their life (lose weight, control a fear or anxiety, stop painful hemorroihds, etc…)  – OR –
  • Achieve a dream, passion or goal for themselves (make more money, get a promotion, attract more women, look better (younger, more muscular, healthier, etc…)

The key to master internet marketing and become a business tycoon online is to know exactly what your prospect wants, why they want it, exactly how they express what they want (words, phrases, comments) and understand the frustration they have experienced thus far in NOT getting what they want.

2. Niche It Down

Now that you know your buyer and the problem they are trying to overcome or desire they are trying to fulfill , then you want to look at the competition?  Check out Amazon, Clickbank, eBay, Commission Junction, discussion forums, conduct surveys – any other way you can find out what your market is already buying.

Find the exact niche PROBLEM or DESIRE people are looking for and you can easily become a business tycoon online!

3. Give Them What They Want

Ok, so now your hunt for the right product or service becomes simpler – knowing who your buyer is, what motivates them and what is available on the market you have a choice to make…

  • You simply pick the top couple of products they are already buying and you start to build your niche online business based on affiliate internet marketing…getting paid a commission for referring customers to existing programs.  This is a great way to start, refine your internet marketing techniques, get to know (at a more detailed level) what your market will buy and make some pretty good cash.  On the downside, you never want to rely 100% on affiliate marketing as you still do not control the product or your income – aim for a long-term balance between affiliate products and your own products or services, that way you hold the keys to your profit not someone else
  • You go ahead and create a product such as an information product (ebook, report, video or audio trianing, membership site, etc…), offer a service or license your own products – wholesale for tangible products is another possibility.  Having your own product to sell online should always be your goal, you will get much richers and control your future profits to a much greater extent following this approach.  (NOTE:  Inside InfoMarketer’sZone we teach a system where we use affiliate products to “learn” about a market and then turn that into opportunities for our own products that can’t fail…you get the best of both worlds with short-term profits as well as quickly having your own higher-profit products to sell online.)

The reality of any 6-7 figure online business tycoon I’ve known is that they empoy both models, building customer trust and brand with their own products and referring great products for high commissions as a secondary income tied directly to value they give their customers online.

4. Go Get Em

Now that you have your target market, armed with their buyer “hot buttons” and a killer product offering, you can now go after them using a two-part system:

  • First, you scale to 100-200 unique visitors each day (with a mix of paid and targeted SEO traffic) to test different offers, sales funnels, sales pages, etc… AND THEN…
  • Once you see 1-2% conversion you can jump to all out MASSIVE action to scale your visitors into the 500+ (and eventually 1000+) daily unique visitors keeping a close eye on your conversion rates

To get this system right, you MUST get the right combination of targeted traffic AND a matching high-conversion sales system.  Falter with either one of these and you will get dismal results, but get the right combination and you will become business tycoon online

5. Take Care Of Your Customers

In the beginning you should be seeing 1-5 sales each day – for a site that is getting 80-100 visitors each day that means a 1-5% conversion rate which shoudl be your initial target. 

When you scale your online business you should be seeing 7-10 sales each day and profits will begin to add-up to a very nice internet profit picture. 

From here, you want to explore ways to improve your profits such as…

  • Testing difference price pints to see if you can squeeze out another 20-30 points of profit margin
  • Looking at putting together a higher-end offer for the top 20% of your market who really want to go big
  • Testing different cross-sell and up-sell methods that turn more profit from each sell
  • Test back end offers that turn your one-time customers into repeat buyers
  • Mine your current customers for additional product opportunities AND/OR turn them into champions on social networking sites or get testimonials that will help improve your conversion rates further

As you can see, becoming an internet business tycoon online doesn’t happen by accident, there are very common, achievable stages you can quickly go through to MAKE it happen in your life too.
