I get contacted daily by people who have struggled to make money writing.

Freelance writers who kill themselves trying to make insane deadlines and yet have trouble paying the bills.

Published authors who make a pittance from their work, not being able to figure out how to monetize their popularity?

Blog publishers who have hundreds of thousands of followers, but don’t know how to turn that into profit.

Authors who write and write, but just can’t seem to get anyone interested in their work.

While it can be challenging to deal with so much pain and disappointment, the great news is that in almost every case we can turn that struggling writer or professional’s career and lifestyle completely around in 30-45 days using systems available within Information Product Marketer’s Zone.

The beginning of that turnaround is to understand the 3 Keys to Making Money With Writing

1. Write what your market wants…not what you want or what you THINK they want.  When I start out to write a book in a specific marketplace, I let the market tell me what they want and why they want it.  I study conversations at bulletin boards, questions posted online, sales rankings of books and information products and the popularity of content to get a very fast and accurate read on what my market wants and more important…what they are paying for.

This is the complete opposite to how most writers work.  They either assume a certain level of understanding about a market and charge off spending months on a project only to find their assumptions were not 100% correct, or they take a job writing for someone else and keep very little of the profit.

2. Write to give results NOT to inform.  What do you think is worth more to your customer – a book that talks about why they gained weight or a book that gives them a CURE to take weight off?  Many writers like to write to show people how much they know about a topic…we are all guilty of that at one time or another.  But…your customers don’t care how much you know, they want you to give them simple, effective systems so they can get results (lose weight, get a date, make more money, make a gourmet meal, impress their friends, avoid embarassment or pain and so on.) .  By focusing on writing to give results your writing holds more VALUE for your customer.  In exchange, they will give you more money for your writing.

3. Grow Your Enterprise…your writing is not only a product that you sell to a market (hopefully your own products so that you can leverage them over time and keep more of the profits), but your writing (books, ebooks, reports, etc…) are also vehicles that build your potential value in your marketplace which you can then leverage to discover new opportunties to help your customers and grow your publishing business into a full-fledge information publishing Enterprise.  Once your customers read your ebook or book, they may need coaching, additional products, ongoing support through monthly membership programs, a live seminar or event, a home study course, video demonstrations, and so on…

Think beyond your writing will allow you to take the profit potential with a top selling book or ebook and multiply that value by 10-times or more making profits and impact on your marketplace well beyond what most writers can even imagine today.
