Do you have to be an Expert in your niche to make money online?
Pretty critical question isn’t it?
What if you have no experience, but think a niche market will produce big profits?
How about interest or willingness to research within a niche, does that count?
Are BIG money making infoproduct marketers Experts in their niche?
What the He** is an Expert Anyway?
We all struggle with these questions when we start out online.
After all…we don’t arrive in this world an EXPERT and many never become an EXPERT in anything – so are we sunk?
THE ANSWER IS NO, and here’s why:
Having 10+ years experieince marketing online, having experience operating a 6-figure information publishing company and knowing how other top info marketers built their fortunes (we share all of this inside InfoMarketer’sZone), here are 3 ways to avoid Expertitis and still make money online:
1. BE interested enough in your niche to become active and research:
You don’t have to be an expert, you don’t have to LOVE your niche, but you do have to come to terms with the fact that you WILL have to spend time and get to know your market, what their dreams, desires and frustrations are and what they want.
Some people call this research. I call it MARKETING!
You cannot build a large, successful business of any kind without having a passion for your market and a passion in what value your product(s) bring to that market.Â
2. Hire someone to write content for you who DOES have experience in this niche:
I’m not a big fan of this approach, but it has worked for some online entrepreneurs where they partner or hire direct market experience to provide the critical link with their target market.
This may involve guest bloggers, ghostwriters, consultants, employees or straight ahead joint ventures or partnerships formed to enter a new market.
Â
3. Pick another niche.
Yes, this is always an option.
Â
There are a Gazillion niches out there, the best combination is where you align an interest, some personal experience and market potential – that’s that’s the asy way to make big money.Â
You should not continue in a niche where you are unable to communicate with your market with content they know is real…that’s a recipe for failure.
If someone tells me they really want to dominate a niche (and their is passion in their eyes) but they don’t have practical experieince – No Problem!
If someone tells me they have no idea what their target market wants and they don’t have that passion in their eyes – BIG Problem!
Your success depends on being in the first case not the second…hope this saves you a ton of time and pain.
