Inspiration is a key factor in happiness, fulfillment, growth and achievement…
Your level of energy, creativity, productivity and profit all DIRECTLY relate to your level of inspiration over time.
That’s the key, is STAYING inspired more often than not.
For most people, they are inspired may once or twice a week – and that only lasts for a few hours.
What if you could be inspired EVERY day and make it last longer through the day no matter what madness is going on around you?
As kids, we live highly inspired lives.
As we age, we lose a great deal of inspiration leading to unhappiness, boredom and even hopelessness.
Let’s look at some quick and simple ways to claim your inspiration back AND make it last longer.
Here are 5 ways to stay inspired
For me, inspiration is a state of mind and body that provides the optimal opportunity for you to be happy, creative and productive.
We’ve all had those moments or times in our life when we feel at peace, great ideas seem to flow freely and our creativity is FULL ON!
The challenge, of course, is to turn those moments into hours and days of being inspired – having the ability to control your mindset for optimal living.
1. Plan Inspiration Into Your Schedule
We don’t stay alive unless we eat and drink.
We don’t stay fit unless we plan our diet and allocate time to be active.
Inspiration is no different…yet who actually schedules time to fuel inspiration into their day?
Just as you may plan exercise, meal time, meditation, etc…
Plan for one block of inspiration 20-30 min twice daily (you can do more if you want/need)
2. Prepare Your Inspiration
The majority of people have a passive relationship with inspiration. They wait until something inspiring happens.
The trouble with that is there is a constant barrage of negativity (news, online, staff, family/friends, etc…) that FAR outweighs the opportunity for inspiration to happen “by chance.”
That’s what leads to very infrequent bouts of inspiration.
Not nearly enough to combat the tsunami of negativity.
Highly inspired people do not leave it to chance. Instead, they take control and PLAN their inspiration just as if they planned to work out.
Try creating YOUR list of books, podcasts, videos, case studies, people and places that inspire YOU.
This is your goto list for daily scheduled inspiration
3. Become more active
Passive thinking, planning and dreaming has a limit.
You get short bursts of inspiration followed by longer periods of frustration or boredom.
Yes, you can be temporarily inspired by watching a video or reading an especially good book.
The challenge is, how long does that last?
Balancing passive methods of generating motivation and inspiration with adding ACTIVITIES that inspire you into your life is a very effective way to become much more inspired each day.
That doesn’t mean you have to escape to some expensive location, something few people can afford to do.
It does mean knowing the SMALL things that inspire us each day:
- Nature
- Motion
- Helping people
- Being kind
- Changing locations
- Spending more time with curious and inspired people
- Local places that inspire you – spend more time there
- Join teams or groups where inspiration is far more common
Becoming more active increases inspiration – the more you do, the more you become inspired
4. Movement…Nature
Movement leads to chemical reactions that increase inspiration.
I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve been in a funk either creating products, solving business problems or trying to convince myself to workout where I completely reversed my mindset with a simple walk!
For many, nature elevates these reactions. If you are bored with your neighborhood, take a different route or explore it during a different time of day.
10-15 minutes of movement in nature has proven to be extremely inspirational for people
5. Be Curious…Constant Learning
As humans, we are MEANT to ask questions, explore, learn and grow.
Many problems present themselves when we give up on these very natural instincts and needs.
In large part, inspiration will be triggered by flipping your mind to ask questions, be curious or learning something new.
In my experience, it is impossible to NOT be inspired when you are in these states.
The more inspired you are, the better your mind and body works.
Ideas, activities, milestones and goals ALL become MUCH easier when you are inspired.
