One of my favorite ways of uncovering niche information product ideas and topics is to search the online sites for popular magazines.
I’ve shared these techniques among many others inside Information Marketer’s Zone – the #1 site for serious information marketers and publishers.
For example, let’s say I had an interest in info product opportunities in the area of personal development which can be an extremely lucrative market for selling information products IF you can identify very specific issues that customers are trying to solve.
The exact challenge many online marketers face is nailing down a specific topic or info product idea from a competitive market where the potential topics are many.
On this day, I head over to the Psychology Today website and discover a tab titled "Health Centers" where I can further look at niches such as "Stress", "Work", "Relationships", "Sex", etc…getting me closer to my goal of identifying a specific info product topic.
Next, I look at the leading articles – but I look at them differently than most people would.
First, I ask, what outcome does the article promise to it’s reader?
Next, what are the benefits the article targets – these benefits often lead to some very powerful info product topics.
Finally, I look to see the specific solution the article offers – is it a system, set of steps, technique – these will help guide my thinking in terms of other treatments and positioning for my web marketing campaign.
Ok, so I select the Stress Health Center tab and then see an article titled: "Loving the Lotus" which targets meditation – but does it really?
In fact, the target of the article is stress, relaxation, improving patience and becoming "enlightened" – these are the benefits the author has recognized people searching for information on meditation seek out.
So, you can then target outcomes based on these benefits such as "enlightenment" or "controlling one’s temper" and then organize a system of solutions (which may include meditation) around solving those problems.
KEEP THIS IN MIND…
When you produce info reports, information ebooks or any info product, you MUST target a desired outcome first, understand the benefits you will target with your information and THEN develop a system of steps, techniques, and strategies to help your reader achieve that outcome.
The entire process of creating your own info product can be extremely fast, very profitable and tremendously rewarding (not to mention a great way to make money online), if you want to learn more, head over to InfoMarketer’sZone and learn how you can get into this business with as little as a few hours each week.
