It used to be companies paid a Gazillian bucks for TV and Radio advertising to build a brand.
Then there are those that understood how to use newer media including publishing and reality TV to build a brand (Think Donald Trump)
And here we are today where social networking through interacting with your marketplace has opened the door to a new breed of entrepreneur to build their brand.
Through blogs, video hubs such as Yahoo and real-time streaming sites like U-stream to realtime social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook, now we have guys like Gary Vaynerchuck (Also known as The Wine Guy!) building millions and millions of followers for his Wine Expert brand.
Gary is a master of new media – sort of a nice version of the grumpier and more corporate Seth Godin (Think Emeril Lagasse or the Cake Boss meets Jack Welch – if that doesn’t get you thinking friend, nothing will!)
Seriously, Gary is the real deal with a massively growing Enterprise fueled by some 800,000 followers plus on Twitter, his blogs are bookmarked by many who hang on his every word.
Yet you see him operate a very grounded level – he knows wine and he works every angle to make contact and keep in touch with his market – especially video.
Here’s a neat article from Inc website on what a typical day is like for internet marketing superstar Gary Vaynerchuck – take a read, but most important, learn to adopt his methods for understanding and communicating with his market…it won’t be my fault if you find yourself a growing brand in your chosen marketplace!
