Being an avid information product entrepreneur, one of my favorite people is Jeff Walker – otherwise known as the Product Launch Formula creator, he’s not only a genius online marketer and teacher, but he is a great person.
Jeff’s latest video caught my eye – spend a quick 6-minutes watching it as he uses one of his life’s analogies to make an important business point as well as teach a fundamental lesson around setting yourself up for success…
I took a few things out of this video, wanted to know if you caught them?
1. Perfect example of how to use “framing” in marketing to position your solution in the context of the competition or in the context of what the value of your product or service can bring to a person’s life. Basically this means “framing” incredible value and life outcome with a price that, when compared to the outcome, pales in comparison to the benefit. We use this in our marketing everyday as perhaps one of the most powerful marketing concepts ever
2. Jeff’s take on setting ourselves up for success is powerful. So many people pick a top name to follow and set their expectations around instantly achieving or producing results as good as that top mentor. That’s called setting ourselves up for failure. Instead, look at our progress. Take action and look at 1 thing that you have done better today than yesterday in your life. You can always find that 1 thing…that’s called setting yourself up for success
3. The video itself is a great example how Jeff communicates brilliantly with his list as well as pulling in new subscribers and champions. He shares personal stories, weaves them into messages that matter to his viewers and always thinks about W.I.I.F.M (What’s In It For Me) so that he shares an actionable tip, technique or strategy and how that matters to those of us watching. So many other videos are ineffective because they either try to just sell or they stay too personal without linking that personal experience back into something you can use in your life.
