I wouldn’t have thought I would be writing ebooks on a Sunday afternoon, but the Spring hasn’t quite hit here yet, I try and work on my ebook businesses between important family and personal time and with a list of more than 60 topics that are ripe for the picking on my current shortlist, ebook creation is fun this afternoon.
About a week ago I was surfing around some of the sites I like to use to mind new niche markets for information products and landed on Psychology Today – publishers of the popular magazine by the same name.
I have to tell you, when I get someone new to InfoMarketer’sZone or one of my coaching clients says “I want to begin my ebook creation business but I can’t decide on a market or topic…” then this is where I send them.
Immediately, 4 topics jumped out at me as potential opportunities. Here are two of them…
1. Controlling Anger
2. How To Keep The Small Stuff From Driving You Crazy!
Yah…those are good.Â
Why?
Because they are…
- Widespread problems, lots of people are undergoing these challenges
- They are highly emotional – people with anger management or undue stress are desparate for solutions which means they will buy…
- These two topics are at the top of the most popular article pile over at Psychology Today – that tells you there is built-in demand
- They are both topics that are timely in terms of today’s social and economic environment – and they are lasting problems that will continue to be challenges years from now (which means your ebook creation effort will be leveraged over many months and years of profit)
Low and behold, there is another section on the very first page of the website called “Diagnosis Dictionary” under which the major headings are ALL great candidates for ebook creation topics – they include:
- Attention Deficit
- Aging
- Anxiety or Panic Attacks
- Relationship Issues
- Etc…
All we need to do is check over at Clickbank Marketplace and we’ll see that there are dozens of top selling ebooks forsale right now on these topics – not suprisingly, these are among the top topics of all on the massive ebook directory.Â
What’s best about using this approach to finding hot ebook ideas is that they have built-in demand which means your goal to sell ebooks is much simpler when your customers seek you out instead of you having to find them and convince them to buy.
What am I working on?
I’ve simply selected a topic that interests me (but one that I am NOT an expert on), checked that there are existing products selling well, identified a gap in how the current products tackle this challenge, do some primary market research by spying on a few discussion forums and surveying my market – then wham…within 2-3 weeks I have a complete outline for a top selling ebook that I can research myself, look for public domain content or have written by a freelancer for a couple hundred dollars.Â
Where’s the fun?
If that wasn’t fun enough for you, imagine finishing the ebook creation project, listing your ebook on Clickbank and seeing a few sales each day come in for your $37 ebook.Â
Now, that means another $2.000-$3,000/month in pure profit in your pocket – I bet it’s not hard for your mind to start imagining a few of these businesses on the go and some additional back-end sales you can generate by expanding your ebook marketing business into marketing other people’s add-on products and services.
That’s a $100K/year business – and it all started with one simple 40-50 page ebook creation project on a Sunday afternoon?Â
Yes, that’s exactly how this business starts.Â
Take a look at what the members of InfoMarketer’sZone are enjoying to help them fast-track their ebook creation projects – systems, techniques, tools and support for every aspect of marketing ebooks for profit from idea and ebook topic selection through advanced ebook marketing techniques – it’s all there.Â
