Popped over to the blog from helping some people inside InfoMarketer’sZone with their online marketing campaigns…wanted to make a very CRITICAL point.
When you do any of the following as part of marketing online:
- Create a product (ebook, report, course, membership site, etc…)
- Create a bonus or incentive product (free ebook, report, video to give away or act as a freebie to help list building)
- Put together a website (headline, benefits, offer…) for your own product or someone else’s product as an affiliate
- Craft an ad – text or graphic that you will send or post to bring in traffic and cutomers
At the forefront of your mind MUST be these two words…
WHO CARES!
One of the InfoMarketer’sZone members had worked hard on an ebook they wanted to give to their visitors to help build their list…it was a general “glossary of terms” for their niche market.”
Nice right?
Not really!
Why Not?
Who Cares!
I asked this person, do you really believe if this person (by chance) arrives at your site and gives you 15-seconds of their time to decide if they should stay or not will JUMP at the opportunity to download this ebook?
Not very likely…indeed her results were less than stellar with only about 10 people in 1000 having signed up to her list so far.
In this case, the answer to “Who Cares?” is nobody!
URGENCY AND DESIRE
There is very little magic about marketing to people, but what magic does exist is wrapped up in two terms…Urgency and Desire.
Why are these concepts magical?
If you tap into urgency and desire in your marketplace you will achieve incredible results without even really trying…but when you do NOT have these concepts built into your business you will meet resistance every step of the way.
People commonly wonder, why am I working my ass off when this other guy seems to be trying less, but succeeding 10X more?
Most often, it comes down to how well you understand your market and specifically, how well you have pegged their urgency and desire.
When you develop your business, create a new product or marketing piece ask yourself…”Is this topic top of mind for your prospect…do they have the urgency and desire for your idea or message to instantly give up their contact information and join your list or take out their wallet and give you their money?”
I see it over and over again…products and marketing that completely miss the mark, that do not tap into the most pressing, urgent desires in a given market.
What changes can you make to become more in-line with urgency and desire in your marketplace?
