We’ve talked a lot about getting yourself into the right business, aligned with your passion and pushing 110% toward your business.
110% toward understanding, engaging, building competence and serving your marketplace – that’s a given for being a successful entrepreneur.
Funny thing is though that those of us who think like entrepreneurs tend to think we can do it all on our own.
That’s for good reason too, because you do need to block out 95% of what’s around us because it is either negative or not relevant to the amazing journey we have chosen for our own lives.
At the same time though, as any successful business person will tell you, it DOES take more than just you to be successful and happy in your business an life.
1. Your Family
First and foremost, there is your family. Your spouse and your kids – they matter more than anything (other than your own health and aspirations which need to be in place to give your family everything they deserve). But most entrepreneurs are out of synchronization with their spouse and their kids. They want you to dial-it back…to “share the load” implying that you need to spend LESS time on your business. You know that won’t work. So, instead of ignoring the reality of this common mismatch, instead of going on without their support or continuing to fight it…come up with a plan to educate them, influence them and get them on board with you as a collective unit. When you are in sync with your family you are FAR more powerful, energetic, motivated and able than when you are silently or overtly fighting them.
2. Your Audience
Too many entrepreneurs think of themselves and their audience or market as an US and THEM proposition. That’s not an effective thought pattern on how to engage your marketplace. A far better approach is to think of yourself as one of them…willing to share your experience, your knowledge, your advice and your day-to-day life with them – watch your engagement and sales go way up. Not only does this endear you to your market that much more, it makes doing your business that much more fun and easy as your market HELPS you instead of resisting you.
3. Help, Employees
Again, the urge to be a micro-entrepreneur and keep doing everything yourself or to keep contract, part-time or full-time help at a distance holds back entrepreneurs from reaching their true potential. Instead, armed with your very specific plan for how you want to grow BIG, hire people who are in sync with your thinking – who also think BIG and can help take you there. Together you can dominate your space to a far greater degree than you could ever do on your own.
Entrepreneurs tend to think about ME or I when they could be so much more influential, productive, successful and dominant if they would start thinking about WE…my family, supportive friends, champions in my marketplace and everyone who I get to help me grow this “Movement” ensures that you go from SMALL thinking to BIG thinking and your results will follow.
