When you SAY you want to be an entrepreneur and build a successful business, do you really mean it?
Entrepreneurs are passionate about what they do.
Entrepreneurs are more scared about giving up control of their ideas, energy, time and money to someone else than they are by the prospect of losing it all…
And most important of ALL…
Entrepreneurs are willing to put 10X the effort, work 10X as hard and get things done 10X faster than others…all to make their dreams come true and live a life where they are in control, learning and enthusiastic.
When we work with people who decide to build an online business, we often see the passion, the desire and even the fear of having lost their job or not controlling their own destiny.
However, we rarely see the work ethic, the action orientation, the determination to get results 10X faster – the focus on speed and results.
It’s not the passion, desire or planning that leads to the huge failure rate in entrepreneurs it IS the lack of commitment to getting shit done!
Here are some of the key ways that successful entrepreneurs speed past those who “want to be”, but still aren’t:
- They get started right away…they don’t spend months planning. They commit to getting the answers they need NOW so they can get moving in the right direction without complete information knowing they will learn and adjust as they go
- Successful entrepreneurs have already succeeded in their own minds…they have created a clear vision of what their life is already like, even if they still have a ways to go to get there
- They think BIG…much bigger than most average or unsuccessful entrepreneurs. They shoot for the stars – even if they fall short they end up much higher than the field
- They aren’t afraid of setbacks or failures…these are simply speedbumps, a symptom of living the life of a successful entrepreneur
- Top entrepreneurs understand the importance of speed. Speed in product development, developing content, building a brand, forming partnerships/alliances, pivoting when the clear path to success takes a turn — and they keep moving fast never resting on their laurels
- They understand the massive value in taking action – even if it isn’t entirely correct – will build more momentum and end up far more valuable than thinking/planning will
- Leading entrepreneurs understand the value of learning UP – meaning they look up and learn from those far ahead of them…creating relationships, paying for advice to fast-track their own success are worthwhile investments because this enables and reinforces speed
There is no middle ground, you either run your business scared, cautious and slow or you build with confidence, speed and influence.
Which are you…the sloth or the cheetah?
