This 3-Phase plan is a summary of the intensive 6-Week video training program inside InfoMarketer’sZone where videos and a mentor’s forum help you walk through each step in detail to get your online business launched and earning a profit over the next 4-6 weeks.
In Phase 1 we will cover 3 main areas that are CRITICAL to your Massive Action Plan seeding successful profit earnings into the New Year…
- Seeding Your Focus And Motivation
- Deciding On A Market & Niche
- What To Do First (And Second)
Seeding Your Focus and Motivation
When it comes to succeeding with most things in life, taking massive, focused action gets you there farther and faster than anything else.
Where does motivation, discipline, energy, momentum and patience come from?
They are cultivated by having a very strong, emotionally -charged, deeply important REASON why you will succeed.
Some people succeed at business because they are instilled with a deeply held fear (of losing their job, losing their ability to earn income, of failing in life, of letting someone down) while others are succeed because they have identified such an earth-shattering picture of WHY they MUST succeed that there is no Plan B, there is no other option and so failure is as good as being buried six-feet under.
That’s the level of dedication and drive you must find within yourself to succeed.
Here are some guidelines to finding your big WHY:
- It must tap into RAW emotions within you…many people will actually cry or get highly emotional when they tap into their deeply held purpose for succeeding at their business
- It should come from within…even if your purpose is to get something extrinsic or make someone else proud or happy, ultimately the purpose behind these things is how accomplishing these external actions will make you feel (satisfied, fulfilled, happy, respected, proven, prestigious, etc…) Put your finger on what feelings success will give you – feelings that are so profound that you are not willing to live without them
- It is something BIG…for Bill Gates it was to put a learning and entertainment tool in every home (the PC), for Gary Vaynerchuck it is to buy the NY Jets, for Steve Jobs it was to bring beautiful design to mass consumer products…You want your WHY to be deeply personal and emotional but also BIG – something that you will achieve along the journey
- You believe it with CERTAINTY…the more certain you are about achieving an end result the more you will go after it with everything you have. Â Belief plays a huge role in motivation and patience as well as confidence
Make sure you find the motivation that is YOURS and not just take someone else’s.
Here are a couple of ideas to get you thinking…
- You MUST show your kids how to build a successful business so they believe and see it as a real option to follow in your footsteps – their life and future happiness depends on you showing them the way
- Your picture of life in 5-years is to have a $1M house fully paid off (where you live in a place that you can be most at peace, most creative and most healthy) where you can contribute to making those around you financially free and give $500K to setup a charity that you work with others to fund to the tune of $1M that impacts the lives of people in the following ways _______, ________, _______
Please don’t ignore of skip over this step – it is immensely important and in the end will prove to be the key difference maker between you succeeding (less than 2%) versus giving up (more than 98%)
Do yourself a favor and go ahead and post a comment when you have found your BIG WHY – even if you don’t want to share it publicly, post and let the community know that you have passed this very important first step.
Deciding On Your Market & Niche
Ok, now that you are empowered with the unstoppable force of knowing WHY you WILL succeed with your online business, very little stands in your way…the task from here on in is to simplify the process making the path to your objectives faster and easier
One of the very first things to key in on when you have your Purpose set is to make sure you have chosen and are crystal clear on your target market, value proposition and differentiation as you tackle a given market with your online business
Here is a simple paragraph you want  to be able to complete by the end of this section:
My business exists to serve __________________________ (Details description of your primary target prospect) allowing him or her to achieve or overcome  _______________________  (Primary value that they will experience through doing business with you) which will make his or her life better by ____________________________ (A description of the emotional value your market will place on achieving a desired outcome or overcoming a major challenge) due to the fact that our business offers them unique value by _____________________________ (Your unique twist, angle, differnatiator) which is not available anywhere else on this planet
Here is an example of identifying a market that would benefit from a weight loss regime that recently worked for someone you know or that you have used to drop 10 lbs and now you can help others with…
My business exists to serve middle aged men from 35-55 who struggle with love handles and a fat belly to lose the love handles and drop at least two sizes off of their belly which will make them look and feel like they did when they were in their twenties, look more attractive, overcome digestive conditions such as acid reflux and feel 20-years younger due to the fact that our 4-week program is simple, takes less than 45-minutes/day, does not dramatically change your life and will last even after the first 4-weeks is over
In order to find a market and desired outcome that warrants your time and effort, here are 4 techniques that we use to find killer niches and niche ideas:
1. Your own experiences – what have you accomplished or overcome in the last 5-years that you could help others with? Â Have you lost weight, overcome a health challenge, gotten a promotion, trained your dog, achieved a degree or reward, raised your kids through challenging times, gotten out of debt, worked your way through a rough or dissolved relationship? Â Each of these give you the kickstart to helping others going through the same life transformations
2. Amazon book lists and categories – here you have a goldmine of topics and niche markets that you can carve out a place for your own product or service…loose guidelines are to see a good variety of at least 50 related titles and at least 4-5 top selling titles around the topic you are considering. Â Having that kind of traction makes it easier for you to tap into existing spending patterns and takes risk out of your online business
3. Top blogs and magazines…again where you find a history of spending around a product, market, topic (in the case of information products) you take one variable out of the equation (the variable we know as “is there money to be made in this market?” – which leaves us to simply hone our specific value add and differentiation knowing there is demand to tap into
4. Discussion forums, blog comments, Amazon comments and reviews, social networks etc... What you learn as an online business entrepreneur is that anywhere you can tap into (through search mainly) discussions in markets you will find opportunity “triggers” which tend to be found in frustrations, questions, requests and feedback on other products – this will give you certain clues to what products and markets you can tap into
Finally, regarding finding and choosing your niche market and topic, there is the constant (and rather useless) debate about going with your interests versus commercial viability…the short answer is that you need both. Â However, it doesn’t matter which place you start from.
It could be you start with a passion or interest and then through market research you learn how to tweak the topic to tap into maximum commercial viability OR you start by finding topics and products that you know are making money and don’t stop until you find one that matches your interests/passions – either way you want BOTH to succeed with your online business
Go ahead and post your finished market niche/demand statement in the comments – often it helps to share and get feedback to get just the right niche and idea in your marketplace.
Alternatively, if you want some personal help/mentoring around picking your market and topic – check out Information Marketer’sZone – having launched hundreds of businesses for those that we have worked with inside of that site, the benefit to you and your future is unquestionable
What To Do First (And Next)Â
Armed with a fire in your belly and a system for finding high-demand niche markets and red-hot business ideas, your next question is likely to be, “ok, so where do I start?”
First off, know that you already have started…a good deal of your business success will depend on how well you have worked through the previous exercises – that’s just the truth from years of experience and having started many businesses ourselves as well as having helped thousands of others with their new online businesses
Then…the next step you take is to get a handle and start work on a basic web presence.
More clearly, you will need 3 things to work for you business to earn you a profit:
1. You will need targeted traffic – your target niche to find your web pages in the first place
2. You want a sales funnel, the objective being to convert “cold” visitors to “warm” leads into “hot” buyers and to be able to do this over and over again
3. You need landing pages that convert these visitors into leads, leads into sales along with all of the operational aspects including taking payment, accepting and managing subscribers, delivering your products, and advanced capabilities such as up-selling, list management and tracking capabilities
To begin with, you want to work on two main things:
1. Capturing early attention through content (go with your strengths here – it could be written content such as a blog with text posts, social accounts such as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, or it could be audio podcasts or video updates) – in each case a blog is the best platform to host this content and allow you to pull traffic then convert that traffic into leads and sales
2. Sales/landing pages – once you start to get traffic you want to design ACTION pages who’s job it is to illicit action to sign up to your list, click through a link (in the case where you are pre-selling someone else’s offer) or to your own sales page where they will be exposed to a product or service offer. Â These are very specific pages that must “speak” to the visitor that arrives at that page, attracts their attention instantly and compels them to take action toward your pre-designed goals.
We’ll go into more details in the next post around tips on building a solid online set of pages that will become the automated lifeblood of earning profit from your online business
