Let me start by saying social networking sites such as Digg, Myspace, YouTube, Flickr and many others are capable of driving significant, relevant traffic to your site. Those of you who are generating solid content in a high-demand market will certainly appreciate the backlinks and traffic these authority sites can generate for you.
I personally have noticed a massive jump in traffic this past month coming from Mayspace and YouTube.
In the case of Myspace, I have a profile along with an active blog and do have a partner list that totals more than 60 (not massive by some accounts).
Most interesting for me though was this data on the “Top 20 Largest Social Bookmarking Sites for May 2007” that I have not even had the chance to try yet – no doub they will work very well to generate traffic.
For those of you still wondering what all the fuss is about with all of this social networking and social bookmarking sites including their role in generating traffic for your website online – start by setting up and building a content-rich blog in your niche market first. After a few week’s of blogging, you will be ready to explore some of these social bookmarking techniques.
