My weeks are insanely busy…hustling BIG TIME on a plan each week that is always 110% loaded, two boys heavy into sports rounds out the week.
My philosophy has always been that action and momentum trump all…so there is very little time in the week for sitting around pondering life or thinking about doing things, it’s mostly about doing with some focused meditation between to keep my mind and body charged for the next surge.
When Saturday rolls around, we always have family activities on the go, but I do typically get an hour or so to ponder the past week, internalize lessons learned, make adjustments and tweak my plan for the upcoming week.
It’s at this time that a few important thoughts, lessons or tips typically come to mind.
This week I thought I would share a few of them with you…feel free to comment with your own as I think this sharing of insights based on real action makes a huge difference for all of us tuned-in to building something big and special in our lives.
Serendipity
Have to give Gary Vaynerchuck credit on this one…I typically check out Gary’s content each week and pick something that resonates, something I can learn from and apply in my own business.
This week, I came across Gary’s take on Serendipity and immediately related to what he was saying.
Many of the great things that have happened in my life have been manifested (meaning I had created a desire and vision around) and believed intently that they would happen but the HOW they happen is often a surprise. Chance meetings, past people coming out of the woodwork, sudden opportunities emerge where there were none before, radical shifts in thinking, opportunities seemingly falling right into your lap.
Now as much as I believe in the power of attraction, I also am aware that there is a certain element of luck or serendipity to anyone’s success in life and business…however what I have learned through my years in business (and life) is that you IMPROVE your own chances to bring luck into your life.
How?
By being “out there”
Sitting in your office or house “dreaming” about success isn’t going to help…going out and meeting with other people who have had success, learning from them, talking with them, helping them, networking…now that will improve your chance of serendipity substantially.
Being clear about what you are passionate about and what you would ideally like to do allows other people to help and be attracted to that part of you…without this, you can’t hope to attract serendipitous opportunties
Learning to listen for and recognize openings when they do appear. It is my firm belief that there are multiple opportunities for all of us to progress in our lives around us each day, but we simply don’t see them or don’t take advantage. Sure, some of them will be dead-ends, some may bring us out of our comfort zone, some may be a challenge to get up for…but in the end they are there and waiting for us to recognize and act on them.
What are your thoughts on Serendipity…do you believe in it?
Have you had experiences in your business or personal life where serendipity has led to amazing results when you would have never otherwise thought it would?
