Your blog can be an awesome and highly profitable source of traffic and customers…but only if you can consistently post relevant, interesting, valuable and interactive content.
I can hear you groaning…but how do you find relevant topics and content to post daily or even a couple of times a week?
The tendency is to believe…
- Everything there is to say has already been said on other blogs
- People won’t want to see content daily will they?
- There’s no way I can come up with all of those ideas?
- I have nothing more to say.
- Can’t I just post whenever I get an idea?
First, you want to be posting as much or more than others…after all, you are entering a passionate market and you want to capture that audience so you dominate their attention each day
Second, you will find your voice and discover that people are attracted by more than just content, but by your voice – how you express yourself and your passion.   There is always room for another blogger as long as you be yourself and be interesting.
Third, you need to be frequent and consistent. Even if you post brilliantly, people are going to want to hear from you regularly…if they don’t they will go follow someone else and you’ll lose them.
We operate 6 blogs across 6 different niche markets and post daily (at least) to each of these markets – here’s some of the ways we find content.
Discussion Forums
Find some discussion forums around your market, see what topics come up most, what questions are asked…these can often give you enough ideas to blog each day alone.
News or Blog Aggregation
Sites like Google News – search for the latest news stories around your keywords – you will get ideas as well as potential new research, studies, or events that you can blog about that would be of interest to your audience
Your Experiences
Share your own thoughts, experiences and beliefs with your market…sprinkle a few of your own stories into the mix – people want to hear real stories, that’s what will keep their attention and get them paying attention to you rather than just reading dry facts.
Partners
Tap into the content supplied by partners you may use to monetize your site. For example, if you promote a Clickbank product or an Amazon product you can look to the source of the product for articles, facts, interviews, etc…that you can either repost, reference or pull content from to create your own posts.
Getting into a pattern of posting on your blog each day is a powerful way to get more traffic, brand yourself as an expert in your industry and pull people into your list and make more money from your online business.
