If you speak to any accomplished book writer, freelance writer, copywriter or person who makes a living by putting words to paper, they will tell you that the key to success is disciplined writing.

Certainly, discipline is essential to getting your successful non fiction book finished and selling online – but discipline is too broad a term – after all, discipline is required for success in ANYTHING you do in life, so we need something more specific to help us become better at book writing.

Especially for those of us who are not trained writers, who have decided to package information into non fiction books to help train, teach, and bring about positive outcomes for our readers – we need to understand what it takes to turn out successful self-published ebooks, reports, books, manuals, home study courses within days rather than months or years.

Here are 3 book writer tips that will help you to quickly and effectively turn into a highly paid information product publisher – joining the ranks of those who get advanced training over at InfoMarketer’sZone:

1. Make it easy to write 700-1,000 words a day.  Notice I didn’t say you MUST write 1,000 words a day without giving extra advice.  This is the surest way to fail.  If you sit at your desk each day with a blank sheet of paper or blank screen in front of you with the pressure of writing 1,000 words a day – you may as well give up now.  Instead, what you want to do is outline first, then sit down each day with a question or two in front of you that tweaks your mind and makes writing 700-1,000 words a 30-60 minute, painless task.

2. Clear objective, topic and outline.  There is nothing that will stop you in your tracks faster than confusion or uncertainty about your overall writing project goal, or the goal of each specific section you are writing on a given day.  It may take you a day or two up-front, but begin by having a clear vision of what outcome you are helping your reader achieve.  Then, break your chapters and sections up by “mini-objectives” – steps along the way to achieving the desired outcome.  Finally, break these mini-objectives into a series of questions and steps you need to answer, after which your reader will have achieved Step 1 of 10 steps on the way to their desired outcome.

3. Go small and then build it tall…meaning that when you write non fiction with the purpose of informing your audience, helping them lose weight, travel, be more motivated, make more money, improve their career, re-establish lost relationships, etc…it is better to have a solid 40-pages of content to begin with in Edition 1 with plans to update it over the next few months with feedback you get from your market.

The next time someone tells you to be more disciplined about your book writing, you will know the REAL secret to making big money with your writing as a book writer or info product publisher is to make it EASY to write consistently, organize your writing to be most effective and to start small, growing incrementally after your initial work has been released.
