Titles such as “how to”, “Self-help”, training manuals and any other topics that match a desire for information with a well positioned , electronic file fits that bill.

You have ebooks, digital reports and audio information products – the process of packaging information as a viable internet business has been a massively growing one, we’ve had the good fortune of sharing how with hundreds of this generation’s top information entrepreneurs over at this Info Product Private Zone.

And now…things are about to REALLY heat up!

The Age of The e-Reader

Up until recently, the vast majority of people would buy an ebook in Adobe pdf format, download it to their computer and then either read it on the screen or print out a copy.

Now, increasingly, they have another option – the e-Reader.

It all started with Amazon’s Kindle about a year ago which has since taken the market for e-reader’s by storm.

Now, we see major telco providers bundling e-reader packages with their mobile offerings…for example, Vodafone’s recent Books On Mobile service offering where mobile users can snag the most recent ebooks or even get them in audio format.

Then, hot on the heels of Vodafone’s program we see 3’s new launch of an ebook reader program – we even have ebook programs for the Nintendo DS – the floodgates are open folks.

It seems like everyone has their eyes on the “long-tail” of the ebook and book market – where they can earn a few bucks for providing access to a massive collection of very niche-focused ebooks and books.

Consider that even Apple, the giant of long-tail music scene, has been rumored to add ebooks to their itunes store in the near future opening the doors even wider to millions upon millions of devices.

What will this mean for your interest in the ebook business?

EBooks are hitting the mainstream – that means a geometrical growth curve and I would strongly advise you to get in on the leading edge of this curve.  Even if you choose not to license your content to a major content directory, the fact is that there will be an ebook wave over the next 3-5 years, a terrific time for you to build your info product business based on ebooks.Â
