What will 2009 have in store for sales of ebooks and digital information products?

Is the trend toward ebooks disappearing or will it continue to grow?

Will 2009 be the right time to launch your own ebook business?

These are important questions for those on the edge of packaging information into digital products to sell online using systems like The Ultimate Information Entrepreneur’s Success Package.

The GOOGLE FACTOR

Not sure if you noticed the news that broke late last year where Google reached an agreement with book publishers and authors that allows them to scan and offer (for sale) digital copies of out-of-print books – books that were still under copyright.

Digitizing books is not new – the Guttenberg project is a massive undertaking, but their focus was primarily on books falling outside of copyright.

The agreement between Google, authoris and publishers will see Google generate revenue from these scanned books through a combination of advertising, back-end licensing of their database and offering digital versions of the books for a fee – of which Google will keep approximately 37% leaving the remaining 63% to publishers and authors.

Suddenly millions upon millions of long-tail, out-of-print books will now be fully searchable and, to some extent, viewable online through Google’s efforts – a win-win for both Google and publishers/authors who’s work was no longer being offered for sale.

Now, this is interesting news for all of those authors who have older books no longer printed, publishers who own the rights to tens of thousands of out-of-print books – but what does it really mean for you?

EXCITING TIMES FOR EBOOK AUTHORS

There is an interesting implication for those of us who are curretnly (or aspire to) ramp up our ebook business or self-publishing businesses – and that implication is simply that with millions upon millions of digital ebooks now being scanned and searchable through Google, ebooks will see a rapid and significant increase in adoption.

No longer will it seem strange to purchase an ebook on weight loss, cooking,  pet training, business, or thousands of other niche market topics instead of the tangible book you purchase in the bookstore.

Google is about to pave the way for billions of hungry consumers to suddenly accept (even seek out) ebooks as a viable way to get their information.  Already, today, many of us are earning big money creating and marketing ebooks online – the opportunity is about to reach an entirely new level in 2009.

WILL YOU BE READY

Ebooks will finally hit the mainstream – we can already see it happening as sales of ebooks increased by more than 50% in 2008 while paper books actually had a very small decline in sales.

Now is the time to pick up a copy of The Ultimate Information Entrepreneur’s Success Package and discover how easy it is to put together your very own ebooks, digital report or other info product to sell online and tap into the massive movement toward immediate consumption of information that is taking place through 2009 and beyond.

Even better – there are possibilities that ebooks bring to delivery an entire range of information-based products that range from $5 ebooks through to $10,000 seminars and workshops – the potential for your own online business based on packaging digital information is huge today, and will be incredibly massive tomorrow.

It doesn’t happen often that you get a perfect storm – where a company the size and power of Google takes on a segment creating a tidal wave of demand and supply – so when it does happen, make sure you position yourself to be included as a part of that wave – it’s far better to be on top of the wave than caught in the aftermath.Â
