It’s in the back of so many of our minds, coming and going as we live our lives — I should really write a book, but what should my book be about?

We tend to come up with vague ideas as we progress through our lives.  At first, when we are young and have the whole world in front of us, it must be a book about solving gigantic world problems or something that could really change society.

As we get married and have a family, then our mind shifts to kids books, or writing about parenting, relationships and perhaps about looking after our older generation.

Then, we begin thinking about career, business, and finance management topics that could be the topic of the first book we write.

It’s funny – I was much like many others who spent almost 20-years thinking about writing a book, but always scared off by the notion that I needed to be formally trained, or had to go through the traditional publishing route.  None of that, of course, is true. 

The fact is that there are tens of thousands of topics with built-in demand, where buyers are willing to part with $20 into the thousands of dollars to learn and achieve a result in their lives.

Parents want help raising their children, pet owners want help keeping their pets healthy, single people want advice on finding that special someone, business owners want help improving their sales and getting more customers, and so on…

For consumers, it is worth their hard-earned money to pay for information that is researched and organized to help them achieve results in their lives.  It happens ALL THE TIME.

HOW YOU MAY FEEL RIGHT NOW

I came accross this blog posting earlier today that pretty much sums up the feeling that many of us have, the desire to have our voice heard, to share useful knowledge with the world, to help others through the written word and to possibly turn that passion into a new job and lifestyle so that we can spend MORE time doing what we love. 

I do not know Elaine, but certainly her feelings, expressed very well in her blog posting, could be those of any one of the hundreds of thousands of others – with statements like:
