One of the first steps people make when they join InfoMarkterszone is assess their infoproduct topic ideas or seek out ideas if they have not yet gotten to a shortlist…in either case a question that often comes up is what level of desparation you must have behind your infoproduct idea so that a flood of buyers spend money on your ebooks, books or other infoproducts.
If you do NOT have a desparation around desire to solve a problem or achieve a goal in the mind of your prospects, then you MUST think twice about spending time developing an infoproduct on that particular angle within your niche market.
I would be very careful about spending time developing a product that does not have a certain level of desparation behind the motive for wanting information.
A very high degree of top selling information products online have to do with an immediate emotional appeal where the visitor makes an impulse buy – if you don’t tap into passion, you’ll miss out on this momentum.
That said, most markets do have certain questions or topics that are more desparate than others – so look at your marketplace, study discussion forums on your topic, what are they talking about? What have they purchased before? What questions are they asking?
You may want to write an ebook about pets, but find that topics about cats don’t seem to have the level of desparation behind them, but then you see that some more exotic pets may have owners who are much more desparate as the level of passion (even craziness) about their pet is higher and the supply of information much lower.
You may very well be overlooking a trigger topic that is sitting right in front of you linked with a market or idea you already have.
