So many of us who are starting or operating online businesses, publishing our own information products and generating massive content as part of our online marketing campaigns wonder what it takes to make it REALLY big!  And what you will see in a minute is why Jay Leno may be a great roll model for you to follow…

You look up and see the top leaders in almost any industry with envy and would like to emulate them – be in a position where you can absolutely dominate or rule your market, yet for today the challenge always seems to be basic concerns like what business should you start, how to transition from a career you don’t like into a business you will or how to pay the next bill coming your way.

And let me ask you this…how many of us have felt that we just don’t have anything of value to our market OR that we aren’t enough of an expert to really dominate our market in the face of severe competition.

Then there’s the doubt that our area of interest holds enough potential to make business building worthwhile.

These are very common feelings that members of InfoMarketer’sZone come in with, that once overcome unleash a power and freedom that eclipses anything most aspiring entrepreneurs would ever guess is possible.

Now, back to Jay Leno.

Perhaps one of the most successful celebrities of all time on TV with the coveted Tonight Show chair in 1992 with plans to retire in 2009 when the reigns will be handed to Conan Obrian, he certainly has achieved an incredible level of success — yet is he really an expert, or the most skilled?

For example, would you rate Jay Leno in your top 10 or even top 20 most talented comediens?  Some no doubt would, but I would suggest most wouldn’t.

How about top 5 best talk show hosts, would you place him in your top 5?  Again, I’m sure some would, but most wouldn’t.

Yet, he remains incredibly popular, consistently successful causing us to ask why?

Here are a few reasons…

1. He is clearly passionate about what he does.  He loves entertaining, and what is the ultimate entertainment show?  Of course, the Tonight Show.  Above all else, this tells us to follow our passions and line up the ideal vehicle with our strengths and passions.

2. Dedicate yourself to your passion – Jay Leno is one of the hardest working people in the business choosing to endlessly perfect his shows and keep in touch with his stand-up audience performing more than 100 shows a year in addition to being one of the most famous TV personalities of the decade.

3. He stayed himself.  If nothing else, you get the comforting feeling watching Jay Leno that he is completely comfortable being himself with what he does.  Same thing goes with Letterman by the way – they let their true personality shine through and people sense that when they watch.  They didn’t try to be un-naturally funny or portray a persona that was not in line with who they were.

4. Work hard and stick with it.  Only someone with the passion of Jay Leno would stick in out through all of the years of comedy, stand-up and look how he created his own luck.
