Were you one of the remaining 600,000 or so readers of Business2.0 Magazine? I was. It appears the last issue will be sent out this month – then it’s bye, bye for this dot com era magazine.
What’s interesting though is that Business2.0 had been placing a tremendous focus on Web2.0 and beyond analysis in past few months – yet the advertising fundamentals just weren’t there.
What’s your opinion…is this a statement about the e-commerce, Web2.0 marketspace – that maybe it is not as healthy as all of the hype indicates, or is this a statement of paper magazines disappearing as online advertising revenue takes over, or is it just that it was a poorly targeted magazine for today’s market?
Maybe we can learn from what is happening – some solace for the $20 bucks many of us recently shelled out for a subscription – easy come, easy go…
Suppose the one lesson learned today is NOT to take out longer term subscriptions in print magazines because they are likely all teatering on the edge.
