bored at workThough I shouldn’t have been surprised, I still couldn’t believe what this study found to be the time employees are projected to be wasting on the job…

At the same time today’s employees are spending more and more time on the job working later hours, taking less vacation, less able to control their free time with the advent of mobile workstations, wireless internet (you can even catch up with work on a beach in California with Wi-Fi access!) and the biggest interrupter or all – the Blackberry.

Can you relate to this?  Let’s hear your story – comment below to let us know about wasted time in your job.

I was finishing up some consulting with a corporate executive here in town just a few days ago, we went out to dinner to celebrate – I counted at least 12 times he checked his Blackberry during our conversation.  Could have been due to my poor company but something tells me it’s become an addiction.  Is he anymore productive because of this complete surrender of his personal time and lifestyle – not likely.

Get this, the average employee admits to squandering more than 2-hours out of each 8-hour day – more than 30% of your working life is completely wasted time.

Did you know there are millionaires that run their businesses on autopilot spending 2-3 hours each day?

There lies the saddest part of this statistic – we are working longer hours, having less free time resulting in greater addiction, unhappiness and relationship stability AND are missing out on building our own fortunes while all of this is happening.

Remind yourself of this fact the next time you go to pick up your paycheck – maybe it’s time to start putting that wasted 2-hours a day into something that will make YOU wealthier in the long run.
