There are still people selling products and services, e-books, digital infoproducts and tangible products that are not pulling their visitors into a follow-on sequence where they have many opportunities to earn profit from that subscriber, I hope you are not one of them.
I bet you are one that offers a fixed-length follow-on sequence of 5-7 emails – say a minicourse or tips list? We’re talking about 6-8 weeks of contact with your visitors maximum right?
I’ve tried something different in many of my niche market infoproduct sites over the last 6-months – that’s adding an entire year’s worth of autoresponder messages in my follow-on campaign.
First, I absolutely can’t say enough about Aweber as my autoresponder service of choice – it’s highly reliable, feature rich, has great email delivery rates, supports both html and text mailouts and it’s remarkable how they have been able to keep their prices so low.
Second, it’s easier than you think to write 52 emails that you send to your follow-on subscribers 1-week for the next year. I like to start with a high-value download that ensures a high conversion rate of opt-ins. Next, I tell them in addition to their free report, e-book or video, they will get a 7-part e-course that could easily be a paid course. Finally, they will then recieve weekly updates, news and latest case studies that will help them achieve their business and financial goals.
Third, I have found that more than one-half of my information products are purchased by subscribers well into the follow-on sequence – some well past 3-months which is where most online marketers stop maintaing consistent contact with their list.Â
Fourth, I have also found that my affiliate sales have gone up considerably as I incorporate affiliate product promotions into later sequences with the thinking that if they are not ready to purchase my product, then perhaps they will want something else related – and it often works.
Just think – with a concerted effort of a couple hours you can have an entire year’s worth of automated messages consistently bringing you in revenue without ever having to lift a finger after initial writing.
If you can’t immediately get to 52 follow-on’s, at least double them, triple them and see what happens in the next few months – the results will impress you.
