Here’s a great posting over on the Donald Trump Blog that gives yet another spin on the definition of an Entrepreneur.
So, what does this one have that makes it more complete than many other definitions I’ve seen – it’s the “P” for process.
Many of us entrepreneurs absolutely hate process, in fact, the conception of most entrepreneurs is that they become entrepreneurs for the sole reason of escaping process.
But, I can tell you first hand that having an entrepreneurial mindset, desire, propensity for action and killer instinct are not enough to be become wealthy – you also need to master the process of executing on your ideas – and that takes a committment to some process.
Of most importance in this process is the realization that you can’t do it all yourself. In fact, to grow a million dollar enterprise, you shouldn’t do it all yourself.
That means you need to understand how to quickly build a powerful, lean organization that is capable of taking your idea to the big profits you forsee.
Specifically, you need to brush up on your leadership skills, know how to find and hire great people or help, have a strong vision and strategy for your organization to follow, lead by example, learn to communicate effectively and motivate your organization to succeed.
I don’t mean hiring a truckload of people, burying innovation and marketing in a cesspool of process – but I do mean that you must implement enough process to build your infoproduct, online marketing business or offline business into something really great – and not do it all yourself.
