Information marketing was a game changer in our life.

When we figured out that we could put 40-pages of experience or research into an ebook, report, manual or course and sell it for $27, $47, $97 or more and have people begging to get your product…that was pretty much like being smacked over the head with a bag of treasure.

Not only do we have dozens of online profit centers paying us each month, but we have coached and learned from other Multi-Millionaire authors and information marketers too.

But it wasn’t until last evenings phone conversation with a Multi-millionaire info product marketer that I got this brainwave!

Look, you don’t live and breath a business like this, run multiple online information product websites and coach some of the biggest names in the business without gaining some insight into what separates the big profit earners from everyone else.

So, I decided to jot down the 4 critical lessons that make the biggest impact to profit in online information marketing.

 1. STOP BEING SCARED

Yep, this one tops my list.

While fear or being put in a tight spot may motivate you to get moving on building an alternative business like information marketing, you cannot be afraid to fail.

Being afraid to fail keeps you from taking action, from experiencing inevitable setbacks and then re-setting until you reach success.

Ask any successful business person, and certainly any successful online information marketer and he or she will tell you they were successful because they stopped being scared and just took action.

It’s the only way to make it, so get over it and EXPECT to have setbacks so that you WILL succeed.

2. EMBRACE COMPETITION – DON’T AVOID IT

So many people come to us at InfoMarketer’sZone and either want help to break into a niche where there is low competition or are already operating in such a niche but are making very little money.

No kidding!

That’s because there are very few customers!

I would much rather market my way in a SURE THING market where I know people are spending money than targeting a market where you have a very low chance of succeeding

Just to get my point across…here are some niches that have led to multi-Million infoproducts I am aware of in the last few months:

  1. Golf training
  2. Fat burning
  3. Getting a date
  4. Lowering Anxiety
  5. Cookbook

Only the most competitive niches out there right?

Always, always, always go where the money is.  Have faith that you can differentiate and out-market your competition

3. LEVERAGE PARTNERSHIPS

Once you have a compelling product in a niche market that has buying potential, the 3rd piece of the puzzle is getting people to a) Know about your product and b) Trust that your product will get them what they want.

There is no better, faster or simpler method than to form affiliate and joint venture partnerships to help you get both exposure and credibilty literally overnight.

I see so many information marketers trying to do it all on their own, they could easily get 10X the sales with 1/10th the effort by leveraging partners.

4.  EVALUATE AND GROW

Finally, the other key factor that highly successful information marketers have is to rather objectively know when one of their ideas, early products or existing mature products is NOT performing and when an idea or product is HOT.

Many people who create their own products have trouble with this because they get too close to their project and lose the ability to judge its potential (even when the writing is clearly on the wall either way)

Yet testing ideas, titles, concepts, outlines and finished products is critical to quickly ramping up your online information publishing business.

Know that there are many opportunities, the more you test and research, the faster you will find yours and you can get down to growing that business as big as your dreams and energy can sustain.
