Feelings of euphoria quickly change to feelings of fear and frustration for you as a book or ebook writer if you can’t quickly generate publicity and buyers for your new material.

So many times I see people who have done all of the HARD work to get their book or ebook written, but then struggle to make sales because they can’t get enough publicity or traffic to see your newest creation.

Whether you have chosen to host your book or ebook on Amazon, Clickbank, through a middleman such as Smashwords or other retail directory, you still need to get word out about your new product.

Those of us who have built strong information marketing businesses understand that marketing is the single biggest factor in whether a book, ebook, manual or course sells or not.

The good news is that there a many great ways to generate publicity and traffic resulting in more buyers for your book – we have courses on dozens within InfoMarketer’sZone, but here are 4 of our favorite ways to generate publicity for your new book:

1. Superstar Blogging

Start a blog targeting your market sharing daily tips, strategies, personal stories, etc…targeting the keywords your customers would use to find answers to questions that are in your book. Every once in a while promote your book in the body of the blog posts and through links on your blog.

2. Video Promotion

Create some YouTube videos sharing a few of your top recipes with links back to your book on Amazon.  There are two options here, “talking head” videos where you actually appear on the video and share a tip, technique, strategy or story with your prospect driving them back to your website or site where your ebook is listed OR a screen capture of slides where you can walk your prospect through a quickie slide presentation driving them back to your website

3. Content Syndication

Write articles and syndicate them on article directories pointing back to your book. These articles must have compellig titles, have relevant keywords and contain a strong resource box that convinces your reader to come back to your website

4. Squeeze & Sell

Create a “landing page” with a freebie for your market.  Many online marketers call this a “squeeze page” because you are “squeezing” your prospect into accepting an incentive in exchange for giving you their email contact information.  Once they opt-in, you send them a mini-course, report or other freebie that gives them a “taste” of what you can offer linking back to your book or ebook as a warm prospect.

For example, we helped setup a campaign recently for the author of a recipe book listed on Amazon, where we setup a “squeeze” page that offered visitors 6 of the TOP recipes in exchange for opting-in to our information marketer’s list.  The list quickly grew, each email offered a recipe as promised with a link back to the book on Amazon and quickly sales tripled.

Creating publicity and driving traffic to your book is critical to making your new ebook or book a top seller.
