Through our website Information Marketer’sZone we are constantly helping people turn their desire to write a book into reality…not just writing, but getting their book self-published and helping to get attention, take and grow sales from the internet.
I am constantly amazed at the different types of people and topics that succeed in selling, and that change the lives of their author forever.
We’ve had ebooks and manuals created for recovering and ending relationships, parenting and dealing with aging parents, people who want to start their own business to people who want to get a promotion or change their career through health advice and personal improvement.Â
I often tell people, if you could stand in my shoes for just a day you would be AMAZED at how much success a first-time author can have with their very first ebook, self-published book or information product.Â
Here’s a story that shares a similar message.
When Andrew Watson and his wife were expecting their first child he couldn’t track down the right kind of book to help him fully deal with and support his family – in other words Andrew found what we call a “Gap” in the market.
Gaps mean huge opportunities for information product publishers…a way to enter a market where there is proven demand is as near a sure bet as anything.Â
He states it like this…
“Those books just didn’t appeal to me. I wanted something that credited me with a bit more interest, sensitivity and maturity.
How many times have you or someone you know experienced a similar challenge? You want information on a topic, but you can’t quite find what you are looking for. To most people this is simply a frustration, to an information entrepreneur, these are Golen Opportunities to give the market value, answering questions that a large percentage have (and will continue to have in the future)
In this case, Andrew was looking for a basic book targeting men of expecting families with some intelligence and practical experience – something he just couldn’t find and set out to fill that gap, first with a diary and blog and then later, packaging those tips and experiences into a book.
Next time you say to yourself “I wish I could find a book that…” or “I could improve on that book by doing…” then know that you could be weeks away from having your own top selling non-fiction ebook, report, book or course that you can sell online and may be on the cusp of a brand new income stream and lifestyle – or at least the potential to take it as far as you want to go.
